Who We Are

TONY MARRARA, D.C.

Dr. Anthony (Tony) Marrara is a lifelong native of Centre County. He received his Pre-Chiropractic education from the California University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Marrara graduated with honors from the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport Iowa in 1987. While at Palmer he was involved in numerous committees and was also a class officer. Dr. Marrara was an integral part of the Five Points Troxell Intern Program for 2 ½ years while attending Palmer College, and was president of the program for 2 of those years. Dr. Marrara earned his National Board Certification in 1986.

In August of 1987, Dr. Marrara opened the Benner Pike Chiropractic Clinic in Bellefonte, PA where he continues his active practice today.

Dr. Marrara is a past member of Gonstead Methodology, Inc where he was part of the teaching and lecturing staff. Dr. Marrara taught classes on many different aspects of Chiropractic to students and Chiropractors from all over the world and at many Chiropractic Colleges in the United States. Dr. Marrara has received many honors and awards during his Chiropractic career. He continues to keep current in the field of Chiropractic by attending continuing Chiropractic Education seminars.


Dr. Marrara extensively studied the Gonstead System of Chiropractic and is a member of the Gonstead Clinical Study Society. He has extensive experience with patients from infants to geriatrics, pregnant women, work related injuries, and workmans compensation cases. Dr. Marrara is a leader in the field of Extremity Adjusting which is adjusting joints other than the spine such as TMJ, shoulders, elbows, wrists, knees and feet.


In his personal life, Dr. Marrara enjoyed baseball, wrestling, hunting and fishing while growing up in Centre County. Dr. Marrara was involved in the ROTC Army Rangers program while at California University. He was one of the top All Natural Drug Free Bodybuilders in the country and earned his Pro status in 1994. He enjoys working out at the gym and is knowledgeable in the subject of exercise. He still enjoys hunting, fishing, motorcycling and being an active contributing professional within our community by belonging to various clubs and organizations.

JESSE BATHGATE, D.C.

Dr. Jesse Bathgate was born and raised in central Pennsylvania, going through the Bellefonte School District until he went to Lock Haven University shortly thereafter.  It is here where he realized he wanted to specialize a career in healthcare.  In the midst of his time at Lock Haven University, he met Dr. Tony while following his dad (a patient of Dr. Tony’s) into the Benner Pike Chiropractic Clinic.  From this point forward he knew he wanted to become a Chiropractor.  After graduating Lock Haven University with a Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences in 2017, he went to Palmer College of Chiropractic Main campus in Davenport, Iowa, graduating in the 211th class in February 2021.

 

Dr. Bathgate is a past member of the Palmer Main Gonstead Club.  He also spent his time in other areas concerning the Gonstead method outside classroom hours and off campus which include; attending Gonstead Methodology Institute workshops and seminars, attending seminars led by some of the most highly respected leaders in the field of Chiropractic, Dr. Rick Burns and Dr. Herb Wood, interning with Dr. Rick Burns at his private practice, and attending seminars of Gonstead Clinical Studies Society.  Dr. Bathgate is also well trained in extremity adjusting, taking courses under the chiropractic-world renowned Dr. Mitch Mally.  He also is a member of the most prestigious Chiropractic fraternity, Delta Sigma Chi, which consists of most of the leaders in the field of Chiropractic, including Dr. Clarence Gonstead himself.  He continues to keep current in the field of Chiropractic by attending continuing Chiropractic education seminars.

In his personal life, Dr. Bathgate enjoyed playing baseball, along with hunting and fishing while growing up in central Pennsylvania.  Nowadays, he still enjoys hunting and fishing more than anything, spending time with his wife, Carrie who is also a Palmer graduate chiropractor, and his dog, Jax, as well as hanging out at his camp in the Moshannon area.  Dr. Bathgate works on actively taking care of his body with a proper diet and working out at his local gym.  He greatly looks forward to becoming an active healthcare leader in the community in which he was raised in.

SEUNGHWAN KIM, DC

D.C.

Dr. Kim earned a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa—the first Chiropractic college that has produced Chiropractors recognized worldwide. He was nominated for Excellence in Gonstead knowledge and skills at the Gonstead Seminar while serving as the technique chairman of the Palmer Gonstead Club at Palmer College of Chiropractic.

Dr. Kim interned for several years under the legendary Chiropractor, Dr. J. Richard Burns, DC, who served as the Chairman of the Technique Department at Palmer College of Chiropractic.

 

Aspiring to apply his Chiropractic expertise, especially in the Gonstead technique, at the highest level, Dr. Kim participated in extreme sports such as snowboarding, skiing, water skiing, CrossFit, etc., firmly believing that Chiropractic care can enhance general health and athletic performance.

Seeing patients of all ages and with various conditions, Dr. Kim finds the most fulfilling aspect of being a Chiropractor is witnessing life-changing improvements in his patients after receiving Chiropractic care.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Kim enjoys spending time with his wife.
