Office Information for New Patients

What To Expect On Your First Visit

Your first visit at Benner Pike Chiropractic Clinic will take about an hour. This visit takes longer because it is the visit when your doctor will gather all the information he needs about your particular problem and overall health.

First on arrival, you will need to check-in with the front desk where our staff will give you new patient forms to fill out. To speed-up the process, you can download the forms here, print them, and fill them out. If you have not already downloaded and completed the forms, please arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to fill them out.

Our staff will thoroughly explain our new patient forms and any extra paperwork your insurance company may require. Remember to please bring your insurance card, auto accident, and/or worker’s comp information along with you of your first visit.

Once all the paperwork is finished you will meet with the doctor for a one-on-one consultation. During your consultation the doctor will get your complete health history to better understand your problem and current health status. If your problem isn’t “Chiropractic related” then your visit will be no charge and we will refer you to the proper health care professional you need for help.

If the doctor feels that your problem may or can be helped by Chiropractic care then your visit will continue to the Examination portion. The doctor will then perform the necessary Chiropractic, orthopedic, and neurological exams for your case. After the exam your doctor may need to take a series of x-rays, if clinically necessary. X-rays are to a Chiropractor as blueprints are to a builder. X-rays are important for your safety and can reveal important information your doctor of Chiropractic needs to give you the best possible care and results.

After all the information is gathered your doctor will review his notes and analyze your x-rays to find areas that may be contributing to your problems. On your next visit he will explain your examination results privately with you. Then he will give you his recommendations of care to help correct these area(s).

Your Report Of Findings (The 2nd Visit)

After your first visit your doctor will explain your examination and x-ray results. He will then recommend a “Plan of Care” to correct the cause of your problems and even suggest ways to prevent future health or spinal problems. After any questions your Chiropractic care will begin with your first adjustment. This visit will take from 30 to 45 minutes.

What To Expect On Subsequent Visits

Each visit after your initial and second visit will be anywhere for 10 to 15 minutes. Due to the nature of chiropractic care, patient arrival, and emergency cases, your appointment time may vary in length. Our Chiropractors will do their very best to be timely and on schedule.
